How to start tracking power consumption

3 08 2007

Had this forwarded to me today by a friend.

power cost monitor

It’s a Power Cost Monitor that wirelessly connects to your electric meter and tells you what your actual consumption is at any moment.  It responds every time you turn on or off an appliance and give you the readout in dollars as well as kilowatts.

As we all know, it’s really hard to save energy if you don’t know how much your efforts are paying off.

This device retails for about $140 but in Boston, MA, the utility is selling them for about $30 to customers to encourage energy conservation.   Maybe we can get a similar deal here in NYC.
